Jean Turowski

It is with great sadness that we share news of Jean's passing. She passed away peacefully on March 18, 2021 at Chester Village in Toronto. She is survived by her two beloved daughters and son: Stephanie (Michael) Lasanowski, Andrea (David) Bosma and Scott (Lisa) Turowski. She will always be remembered by her cherished grandchildren: Olivia, Sophia, Zachary and Faye.

Jean was a loving mother, magical grandmother and a little social butterfly.  She will be remembered for her creative personality, sense of humor and great devotion to her family and friends.

Jean was born March 8, 1943 in in Red Deer Alberta and moved to Ontario at the age of sixteen. She raised her children in the small community of Eden Mills.  Jean wore multiple hats in the retail industry and throughout her career lived in various regions of Ontario before she was able to finally pursue her dream of owning a Bed and Breakfast in Wiarton.  Nothing brought more joy to Jean than running The Berford and making sure her guests felt at home.

Jean was involved in every community that she lived in and was constantly helping others.  She sewed squares for charity quilts, canvased for Cancer and was always volunteering her time. Jean loved people and interacting with everyone she met. She had an infectious smile and a true warmth about her.  She always offered words of encouragement or a positive remark to everyone she encountered.  Jean loved to celebrate and was known as “Jean the Dancing Machine”. In her spare time, she was passionate about her beautiful gardens, creating an oasis everywhere she lived.

Jean you will be greatly missed.

A private celebration of life service will be held later this year. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Canadian Cancer Society, Alzheimer Association or Sprint Senior Care. Condolences can be forwarded through www.humphreymiles.com.
