Friday, September 28, 2018Dear Mya, Huw, Rebecca and Andrew, Val and I and our boys offer our deepest condolences to you and your family. We only came to know Dr. Sangster, Allan, and yourselves in the last couple of decades. In prior years when we were not around as much, I was always intrigued by my long-passed uncle Jack Trelford's references to his new cottage neighbour, whom he called invariably, 'The Perfessir' and apparently enjoyed frequent conversations with. In later years, we had opportunity to meet and enjoy many conversations and share our mutual interests in the nature, birds, wildlife and beauty of this Huron shore. What is now a much different neighbourhood was grounded by your presence as long-termers at this beach for us. We will miss Allan and wish you all the best, Val, Mike, Peter and Jeffrey Finn

Tuesday, September 11, 2018I first met Alan when I became Principal in 1999. Over the years, we had many enjoyable conversations, especially in the Senior Common Room. I was impressed, with his continuing loyalty to Glendon, attending convocation and coming in for lunch with his colleagues. He was one of Glendon’s mainstays. I will not be attending the service since I am currently out of town but I do want to offer my condolences to the family.

Tuesday, September 11, 2018My deepest sympathy to Dr. Sangster's family. I got to know Dr. Sangster because, besides my dog and I, he was the only other faculty member at Glendon who would take some nice walks in the ravine. I always enjoyed meeting and greeting him. He was a good man. May he be your angel.

Tuesday, September 11, 2018My family and I are very sad about Allan's passing. I am lucky and privileged to have known Allan as a colleague for many years (notably when I was in charge of the Multidisciplinary Studies Department, where Allan taught in the Natural Science Division. His courses were extremely popular, as many of his students told me repeatedly. He taught them to share his love for nature. He was also extremely well liked by his colleagues. An epiteth that came often about him was : "A real Gentleman". Even after he retired, we continued to benefit from his knowledge and wisdom. He used to come (often walking from his house in Leaside) to the Senior Common Room at Glendon, where he would have enlightening conversations with us. And in spite of all his accomplishments, he always remained a very modest person. We all miss him dearly. Alain and Carla Baudot
