We were very saddened at the news of Dee's death. We've known her for so very long, since the '60s, when Bob worked for Campbell Chibougamou, and Dee and Charlie would host dinners and staff Christmas parties, and then later on at Lake Rosseau where we both had cottages. Dee had a special light in her eyes, and a contagious love of life and of fun. When we last saw her, she was at a sale of artwork in the Muskoka area, and we bought a beautiful small oil painting from her - all white and gold - which now hangs on the living room wall of our daughter and her family in England. Our deepest sympathy to Charlie, Lisa and Andy, and to Alex, Charlotte and Chloe. This is a huge loss.
With very best wishes, Elizabeth and Bob Topp
Dearest Lisa, Ron, Charly, Al and Charles and Andy & family . . . oh my, how heavy my heart is to hear about Glenys. So many memories with visits to both Toronto homes and Sandestin, christenings, birthdays and holiday shows. I have been so blessed, Lisa, to have you as my cherished friend for almost 30 years and have been honored to be able to share in such fun times with you and your mom. That photo at the dinner table in Sandestin in 2000 said it all . . . your mom, your dad and myself in great laughter and sharing wine . . . we all had so much fun. Your mom and you introduced Dougie and I to Sandestin and we then spent almost eight years there for 3 weeks over the Christmas season . . . such fabulous memories. And the photo you sent me last year to show me that Glenys still had one of my favourite floral arrangements of the stone vase and feathered bird, brought tears to my eyes.
I know the difficulties over the last number of years and will send my happy thoughts upwards and hopefully Glenys will connect with my artistic and musical parents and have a jolly good time.
Thank you Glenys . . . you and Charles gave me a magnificent friend with whom I hope to carry forward your laughter and kindness for a very long time.
Much love and hugs . . . Miss Margie and Doug
Dearest CL, Lit, Andy, Alex, Charlotte, Chloe, Ron and Carolyn,
I’m so so sad to hear of dear Glenys’ passing. Aw...She was a remarkable person, and I feel very lucky to have received her love and warmth and kindness. Her joie de vivre was absolutely marvellous, her artistic talents so wonderful and her joy so contagious! She adored each of you and was so proud of you all. I will carry her beautiful and uplifting laughter in my heart forever. I send you all my love and my deepest, deepest sympathies. Xox Juan. Xoxoxo
