Ryan Barber

Obituary of Ryan Nicholas Barber

It is with very heavy hearts we announce the sudden passing of Ryan on July 30, 2022.

Much loved and adored son of Paul and Karen Barber, and friend and brother of Sean.  Loving grandson of Alan and Ann Nicholson (UK), Barbara and Bernard James Barber. Lovingly remembered by his uncle Richard (Michelle) and their children, James, Sam, Amelia, (UK); uncle Neil, aunt Ann-Louise and their children, Ashley, Eric and Christopher; uncle Stuart, aunt Judy and their children, Kristina (Tommy), Sara (Matt).

Ryan will also be dearly missed by family in England; “uncle” Malcolm, his “aunties” Deborah, Diane, Tina (Phil), cousins Stuart (Emma), Paul Nicholson and all the extended family overseas and all of Ryan's many friends.

Ryan was a gentle soul with a kind nature and a heart full of love. He was at his happiest when close to nature and enjoyed many summers of cottaging and camping throughout Ontario with his parents and brother. Being an adventurous person, he moved to explore the Canadian Rockies and settled in Calgary for a few years where he enjoyed snowboarding, camping and hiking.  He played guitar well and especially liked playing around the campfire in the summer with friends.

Ryan always looked forward to sailing with his parents and brother.  He enjoyed boats and boating and was a skillful boat handler from a very young age.

Sports were also a large part of Ryan's life, his favourite being hockey.  He played for teams in Oakville throughout his younger years until adulthood and most recently shinny hockey at the local ice rink. He played a lot of ball hockey and hoops with anyone who dared take him on.

Ryan knew his career of choice at an early age; an Electrician, like his Dad, who he adored and considered his best friend.  He completed his five year Red Seal Journeyman Electrician Certification, being licensed in 2021.  He was a hardworking man and took great pride in his work and achievements.

He truly was a genuine, beautiful man.  Being a trusting soul, he always preferred to take people on their word, a handshake was his bond.

Forever Young, We all love and miss you very much Ryan.
