Obituary of Gerald (Jerry) Webster

July 28, 1945 - October 19, 2022

Jerry Webster passed away at home after a long and courageous battle with cancer.   He is survived by his loving wife Cathy (nee Poole), his three children and three step children. Mark (Ruth), Cyndi Williams (Michael), James (Kelsey), Bill Lawson (Sabrina), Mathew Lawson (Robyn) and Patrick Charron.   He was also the best Papa to Zachary, Cassidie, Charlie and Lily.

He was a great and caring brother to Margery Merritt (Peter, deceased), Charlie (Judy), Tom (Shellie), Lynne Wallace (Jim), Bill (Cecile).  Jerry was the much-loved brother-in-law to the Poole family. Michael, Linda Cundari (Chuck), David, Mark (deceased), Mary, Greg (Nancy) and Tom (Barbara).   He was always the fun Uncle and Great Uncle to many Webster’s and Poole’s.

Jerry spent over 40 years in the computer services industry.  He was recognized as a leader within the industry and to his team.  One of his passions, Jerry gave generously of his time in coaching hockey for many years in Pickering.

Jerry wrote a blog about his cancer journey and always made it interesting.  It was, of course, full of humour. Jerry inspired many and will be deeply missed.  Please consider making a donation in his name to Sunnybrook Hospital’s Odette Cancer Centre or the Temmy Latner Centre for Palliative Care, the links for which can be found on the funeral home website.
